IDENTEC SOLUTIONS will be showcasing the new mobile Compact Flash read/write device at CeMAT (in Hanover, 11-15 October) and at the RFID Journal LIVE! Europe conference in Amsterdam (10-12 October; Stand 308). In Hanover, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS will share stand B16 with LNC (Logistics Niedersachsen), a co-exhibitor of Volkswagen, in Hall 12.
Technical Features RFID read/write devices need to adapt to the smaller form factor of other mobile devices. This is why IDENTEC SOLUTIONS has converted its proven i-CARD read technology to Compact Flash format – without making any compromises on communication ranges. These remain at up to 100 meters (300 feet) and use innovative UHF wireless technology. The i-CARD CF can identify up to 100 IDENTEC SOLUTIONS i-Q and i-B tags per second, even if they are moving fast. Using a special anti-collision algorithm, customers can localize up to 2000 tags within the read zone without any interference.
Alongside the communication with active i-Q and i-B transponders from IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, the software on the CF card also enables the pre-processing of data and firmware updates via the CF interface. The i-CARD CF is supplied with software libraries that enable users to rapidly develop customized applications. Drivers for a range of operating systems, including Windows CE/9x/NT/2000/XP and Linux, are also supplied as standard.
“The i-CARD CF combines two factors essential to the identification, tracking, and localization of assets: mobility and range, said Gerhard Schedler, Managing Director of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG. “We’re very proud of being the first to market with a mobile 100 meter RFID read/write device in Compact Flash format. Our customers can now use smaller, newer handhelds without any reduction in read range.
Availability i-CARD CF from IDENTEC SOLUTIONS will be available in production quantities from Q4 2005.
