In 2004, WATCHERTUNNEL was installed in the Oslo "Subway Circle" ("T-Bane-Ringen"). The installation carried out by Tunnelcom AS, uses WATCHERTUNNEL software to ensure that all personnel working underground are registered at all times.
Background
The Subway circle project in Oslo has been an ongoing process for several years. The total cost of the project is 1,348 million Norwegian krones, or approximately 271 million US dollars. Three new subway stations, and an extension of the existing subway between "Ullevål" and "Carl Berners Plass" make the total length of the new subway system nearly five kilometers long.
Solution
The result was the installation of a safety system with RFID cabinets containing IDENTEC SOLUTIONS’ RFID readers and connected antennas placed at strategic locations inside the tunnel.
